Biggest Need

MONEY

It's not glamorous. It's not pretty. It's not fun. It's not creative. It's not ingenious. It's not smart. It's not comical.

It is endearing. It is powerful. It is helpful. It is necessary. It is provision. It is humbling. It is impactful. It is peace-providing.

Tid Bits

Dempsey

  • Had a decent night. (It's hard to use the word "good".)
  • Dilaudid is our friend! Pray that the narcotic(s) will NOT cause constipation because we really only need one hurdle at a time and we already have two.
  • Keeping food down. Praise.
  • Sitting up, using the bed to help assist. Praise.
  • Played Chutes & Ladders. Praise. Hard to win because I don't want to upset him... but that is just like home- you can't win them all.
  • Hoping to try Candyland for he first time... introducing him to some of what our childhood looked like.
  • Infectious Disease doctor came in, looked at him, and was pleased with what she saw. Still getting used to having an ID doctor in our everyday life.
  • Currently playing wii.

Sawyer
  • Is having fun with friends
  • Prayed and was prayed for at WACC today in Kid's Church (What an awesome sight! Thank you Cindi for catching that on video.)
  • His dance card is pretty exciting these days. Thank you ALL who are loving him in these exciting and tangible ways. Please keep that coming.
  • Is worried about brother. He knows what is going on (save all the gory details).
  • Enjoys staying with Granny and Granddad.
  • Seems to be managing well, the distractions with friends  and activities helps.
Jake
  • Focusing most of his energy on Dempsey care; it's working for him
  • Gets away each day for about 4-5 hours to regroup
  • Is better at doing the "dirty work" right now
  • Does well at hospital over night
  • Is good at engaging Dempsey in non-tech ways (reading, games, coloring, talking, moving)

Coral

  • Finds the blog therapeutic.
  • Sleeps at home each night. Sleep... no matter how much I get it's never enough
  • Is learning SO MUCH, SO FAST about things that would get a turned-up nose 2 weeks ago. It's dizzying all the words, numbers, and names that get tossed around.

  1. Would it be helpful to have a notebook to take notes when the dr tells you things do you remember? If you think it might I could drop one off to you
