Biggest Need

MONEY

It's not glamorous. It's not pretty. It's not fun. It's not creative. It's not ingenious. It's not smart. It's not comical.

It is endearing. It is powerful. It is helpful. It is necessary. It is provision. It is humbling. It is impactful. It is peace-providing.

Tangible Love

This makes me cry happy tears.

I know, to you this looks like simple shelves of laundry soap. And, I guess you're right.

But what I see is LOVE. God's love and provision through His Body. I see myself awkwardly and embarassingly sharing a NEED my family had. I see YOU being the tangible hands and feet of Jesus as these items miraculously showed up on our porch. This is just ONE example of the love and CARE we have been blessed with during this DARK and TRYING journey. When your CHILD is diagnosed with the CANCER the WHOLE family feels it.

THANK YOU FOR LOVING US AND CARING FOR US. Thank you also for your endless prayers. Without you, this journey would look much different (and bot in a good way).

A Peek Into Our Life

 Writing to penpals.

A small haul from NOMIN Organics (La Mirada locals go shop there!).

A bowl of sauteed veggies (cauliflower, chard, parsley, snap peas, celery)
in butter, turmeric, & smoked paprika.

Same meal... different kid.

Enjoying keto lava cake and a scoop of organic, non-gmo vanilla ice cream.

Someone built an airplane.

Fullerton train station.

Daddy playing with a new toy (video camera).

Superman helping Jake clean out the van.

Sawyer soaking produce in a favorite product out ours- NEOLIFE's Green.

Licking every last bit of gelato off the bowl at our favorite coffee shop- Talia's-
while sportin' his dude. be nice shirt.

Sawyer rockin' his dude. be nice shirt.
If you're not familiar with dude. be nice, click the link under Dempsey's photo and amaze yourself.

A sweet gift that hangs in my van.

Of course, Legos!

Our beautiful boy waiting for his Pieology pizza. Such a sweet, saucy soul.

Lunch! We love us some Pieology. I think Daddy was working a late Wednesday, per usual.

Waiting patiently at CHOC OPI for his lumbar puncture (aka his "funny sleep").

Kickin' back in a place no child should see, on a journey no child should face.

Dempsey's biggest supporters.

Sawyer soaking up some virtual reality playtime, helping some researchers determine if this is a viable option to help lessen the stress children experience during their treatments at CHOC OPI. This is one of many opportunities Sawyer has had along Dempsey's journey simply because we homeschool.

Post-procedure, thumbing like a boss!

Our "monkey" with this incredible model at the Santa Ana Zoo.

Comparing his arm span to that of a gibbon, I think.

Sawyer being a ham... as usual.

An early morning with no food, a lumbar puncture and infusion, Chick fil-A, and the Santa Ana Zoo makes for one TIRED Dempsey-doo.

The spoils of our Usborne book drive. All of these books will make their way to CHOC OPI, Clinic, or 5th floor HEM/ONC wing to bless other kiddos on their journey.

This kid is loved! He is obsessed with the comic strip Baby Blues, and now someone has blessed him with TWO complete books. Currently there are 33 books and Sawyer has three (#33 Gross, #23 Night Shift, #26 Ambushed in the Family Room). Whoever is blessing him... THANK YOU!

Just us.

My sweet friend, Krisitn, gave me a set of three beautiful bowls with scripture on them.
I thought it appropriate that the verse about strength holds the nutrition and the one with peace ruling in hearts holds the poison. Trusting the Lord to protect our baby's body!

Newsman Dempsey. Uniform: Batman shirt, SpiderMan shades, tablet, and NEGU pen.

Dempsey loving on the Lakota kitty.

New life in the garden. Sugar Snap Peas.

A lively game of Monopoly Deal. One of our favorite family games.

Smoothie makings. So many life-giving ingredients.

These knuckleheads watching the lava cake RISE.

Me and my love. FYI, he is wearing an original Star Wars shirt... like, from the 70's.
He has two my dad gave to Jake.

Evidence of Sawyer's obssession and blessings.

Sawyer and his kitty, Lakota. No family member get the same kinda love from this cat.

Dempsey making his own PB&J. He "paints" the PB onto the bread.

My dear, sweet friend, Ellen, gardening with the Flash and Sawyer.

Brothers reading while Mommy has physical therapy at an awesome place:

Sawyer helping with dinner by making zoodles (zucchini noodles).

Sawyer moved on to pressing fresh garlic.

My plate of keto alfredo. DELICIOUS!!!

Breakfast/ morning study session for Coral.

Dempsey "chalkin". I love how he is so content, at time, to be alone.

These boys love art. Lots of color- doesn't matter what medium.

They were given a plate with apple slices and cheese slices.
So, naturally they made apple/ cheese sandwiches.

Race car driver Dempsey on team Lightning McQueen.

Just a few hands of open face poker with Granddad.

Dempsey in the morning with his fully loaded NEOLIFE protein shake, his blanket, and his favorite stuffed animal, Li'l Button (named by Dempsey).

Proof that kids WILL consume what is good for them!
Me on the other hand... yowsers!
