MONEY

It's not glamorous. It's not pretty. It's not fun. It's not creative. It's not ingenious. It's not smart. It's not comical.

It is endearing. It is powerful. It is helpful. It is necessary. It is provision. It is humbling. It is impactful. It is peace-providing.

There is a Boy I Know

There is a boy I know who LOVES his procedure days. Loves them, I tell you. Loves them so much he has been counting down to the one he had this morning.

Actively marking off days on his calendar.

He says he likes his procedure days because:
1. he gets to sleep more (sedation)
2. he doesn't know why he likes them
3. he gets Chick fil-A afterward
4. he likes the people there

Okay. So, he likes his procedure days. Mama still doesn't.

 Driving to...
 Post check-in... (Frozen)
 Post access... pre-procedure...
 Post-procedure...

Just a reminder about what procedure day means.
NO food/ drink 8 hrs prior (1am).
Port access - needle in his chest.
Lab draw - 3 vials of blood.
Sedation - versed, ketamine.
Lumbar puncture - needle in his spine to inject methotrexate into his cerebral spinal fluid.
Infusion of vincristine (chemo).
Sedations wears off, he can sit up, drink, snack.
Once he can walk he gets discharged and we head to Chick fil-A.
A little bit more about our warrior...

He has drawn up some family photos, his family, not our family. They consist of:
1. Him and Lil' Button (dog)
2. Him and Jerry (dog)
3. Him and his wife OoOo (pronounced "Oh-whoa")

He works at a factory controlling machenical arms that help make PB&J sandwiches.
His wife, OoOo, works in an office with a computer and phone... it's next door to his workplace.
His boss owns both his workplace and his wife's workplace. There is an office between the two buildings.
He and OoOo work opposite days.
He an OoOo met at a wedding and started dating.

It is precious to see these "family photos" he has drawn, cut out, and taped a stand/ prop to. These are next to his makeshift computer which is comprised of two pillows- one flat, one upright. He uses a mint box as the mouse.

His imagination is spectacular!
