So, Tuesday was another Procedure Day.
Early morning family trip to CHOC.
Port access (needle in his chest).
Sedation.
Lumbar puncture (needle in his spine with injection of methotrexate (chemo) into his cerebral spinal fluid).
Infusion of vincristine (chemo).
30 minutes laying flat on his back to help his body heal the tiny hole in his spinal column so no spinal fluid leaks out- that can cause a spinal headache, the most painful of headaches.
De-access of his port.
Look how irritated his pale skin is! Praise God it doesn't bother him.
Check out and make following appointment.
I believe October's infusion appointment will wrap up Cycle 4 of 8 or 10 in Maintenance phase of Dempsey's treatment. This means that he will cut his lumbar puncture procedures in half.
He will move down to 1 a quarter instead of 2. Hallelujah!
In true Procedure Day fashion we went to Chick fil-A for lunch. No Santa Ana Zoo this time. Dempsey is kinda over it.
Now we are in the middle of 5 days of steroids. Holy eratic emotions, Batman!

Because... steroids.
Lets be real- steroids in little humans is awful, even for the best of them (like #teamdempseykenagy). Imagine jars of emotion marbles just toppled, spilling gazillions of fast moving spheres throughout your mind. Us adults have words, lots of words to choose from to explain the chaos within us. Little humans don't. Period. So frustration beckons rage and those of us in their presence take cover from the barrage of emotional release.
Enter essential oils.
